Summary

The developer of SMFix does not collect any personal data from you and does not send your data to any server of its own. Backing up to your own Google Drive is optional and encrypted, as described below. The app requires no account and contains no ads, third-party tracking or analytics.

Network scanning

SMFix discovers the devices connected to your local network and identifies their names, models and manufacturers. Scanning happens entirely within your local network and the results stay on your device. The live online/offline status of registered devices, checked while the app is open, also stays within your network. The device list and addresses are never sent to the developer or anyone else.

Data stored on your device

Your scan history, the names you give devices, and your customers, invoices, receipts and maintenance requests are stored locally on your device only. We cannot access them. You can erase the scan history in the app's Settings, and deleting the app deletes all of this data from your device.

Google Drive backup (optional)

If you connect your Google account in Settings, SMFix uploads a backup of your data to an "SMFix Backups" folder in your own Google Drive: customers, invoices, receipts, maintenance requests, and Daftari and the device registry with their passwords. Maintenance photos are uploaded only if you turn that on. Each backup is encrypted on your device before upload with AES-256 under a password you choose, which is never sent anywhere, so neither the developer nor Google can read it. The app requests only the drive.file scope: it can see the files it created and none of your other files. The Google sign-in token is kept in the device Keychain, and you can disconnect the account at any time in Settings. SMFix's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Permissions and why they are used

• Local network: to discover and identify devices on your network. Scanning stays within your local network.
• Location: iOS requires this permission to read the Wi-Fi network name. The app never reads, stores or sends your location.
• Camera (iPad): to show the picture from an HDMI capture card connected to the USB-C port. The picture is only shown live on screen; it is never recorded or sent.
• Add to Photos: to save the snapshots you take from an HDMI capture card to your library, only when you ask. The app does not read your photo library.
• Face ID: to open Daftari and the device registry. iOS checks it on your device; the app never receives your face data.
• Notifications: for maintenance appointment reminders and the morning summary. They are scheduled on your device only.

You can deny or revoke any permission in Settings. Without location access the scan still works fully; only the network name is hidden.

Sharing and printing

When you choose to share an invoice or document, or contact a customer via WhatsApp, the app you pick opens and the transfer happens at your request; that data is then subject to that app's privacy policy. When a printable document is created, the Cairo font may be loaded from Google Fonts to render Arabic text; the document's content is not sent to it.

Children

The app is intended for network and maintenance technicians and businesses and does not knowingly collect data from children.
